he Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies extends our warmest congratulations to CH ST Ph.D Candidate Aracely Garcia-Gonzalez for winning the Academic Senate Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award!  
 
The Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award recognizes the contributions of UCSB graduate students to teaching and learning.
 
Aracely is an exceptional, exemplary teacher who consistently pours her heart, soul, mind, body, and spirit into serving the students that she is teaching and collaborating with. She is an inspiration for our department and it is amazing to see her devotion, dedication and labor recognized. 
 
About the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award:
 

Each year, teaching assistants play a vital role in enhancing the teaching mission of the University. The Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards recognize the contributions of our graduate students to teaching and learning. The recipients are selected by a committee composed of representatives from the Graduate Council and Council on Faculty Welfare, Academic Freedom, and Awards, as well as past recipients of the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
