African and Afrodescendant Populations in Mexico: Past and Present

Join us in welcoming Dra. Maria Elisa Velazquez on Monday November 13th, 2017 12:30pm-2:00pm South Hall Room 3707. Dra. Velazquez will discuss the presence of people of African origin in Mexico and how their participation has been undervalued and silenced. This conference aims to bring attention to the importance of this population in Mexico and explain when and why they were denied in the past and present of Mexico.
