Please join us to celebrate the publication of The Fourth Invasion: Decolonizing Histories, Extractivism, and Maya Resistance in Guatemala by Giovanni Batz (Chicana/o Studies) with a special book presentation on Wednesday, February 5th at 11 am in the McCune Conference Room (HSSB 6020). 

 

Invited discussants include Charles Hale (Dean of Social Sciences), Javiara Barandiarán (Global Studies), and don Concepción Santay Gómez, Ancestral Authority of Cotzal. It will be moderated by Daina Sanchez (Chicana/o Studies).

 

This will be the inaugural event of the new Center for Latin American and Iberian Research, and is co-sponsored by the Department of Chicana/o Studies, the Chicano Studies Institute, and the Office of the Dean of Social Sciences. Refreshments will be served.
