CFP -- "Gender and Intimacy Across the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands"

Veronica Castillo-Muñoz (History) and I are hosting a workshop on "Gender and Intimacy Across the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands" in the fall of 2016 and we welcome you to apply! Selected participants will have one-nights lodging near campus and will have the opportunity to submit their pieces to the Pacific Historical Review for a tentative special issue on "Gender and Intimacy." Our esteemed colleague, Alexandra Stern (Univ. of Michigan) will provide the keynote talk. Advanced graduate students are welcome to apply.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of our beloved colleague, and friend, Professor Horacio N. Roque Ramírez. He will be remembered as an engaging scholar, a true mentor, and a lively, friendly member of the Department of Chicano/a Studies.
